Back pain is terrible. Chronic back pain is worse. Acute back pain can make a grown man cry. Chronic acute back pain is the end of physical activity for its victims. But before you ever get to chronic acute back pain, and I have been there, you will go through many episodes of acute and debilitating pain that seems to get better.
